Today I just wanted to lay in bed but I didn't, I recorded this song instead

I’ve a sneaking suspicion that there’s something I ought to do
Empty promises that I’ve made pile like dust on the window sill
I’m not a man on a mission but if I was I’d be after you
But then I’d have to get up today and I can’t seem to summon the will

My emotional battery is drained
Don’t have the energy to spend
On fixing a broken smile
It’s just easier to ignore

The rent on the table is buried underneath the pictures frames
That held all the memories that I sometimes can’t recall
Just as soon as I’m able I’ll be back to the same old games
But won't somebody just tell me please that it won’t really matter at all

My emotional battery is drained

On fixing a broken smile
It’s just easier to ignore
That’s what doctors and dentists are for

And it’s not really true
To say that I’ve forgotten you
Cause every time I try this déjà vu
Invades my mind and makes me tired

I should take a vacation, but I don’t really like to fly
So I’ll lay here in bed all day and I’ll watch as the dust piles high
